Inés Alegre is currently doing her PhD at IESE Business School and her thesis dissertation is focused on social enterprises and social entrepreneurship. She also works in the Industrial Engineering School of UPC where she gives courses on general management and economics.

- Laia Serrano Biosca (Directora & Presidenta Ejecutiva BarcelonaActua)
Emprendedora social. Fundadora y directora de BarcelonActua. Máster en Dirección de Márketing por ESADE. Economista por la Universidad de Barcelona. Fue cooperante en Cali (Colombia) para una ONG española.  Anteriormente, trabajó durante 11 años en la empresa privada siempre en el ámbito del márketing y la comunicación.

- Mar  Alarcon Batlle (Founder & Managing Director SocialCar)
Licenciada en Derecho por la UAB, LLM por la University of London (SOAS), Posgrado en Business in China por PekingUniversityy CEIBS Business School y PDD por IESE Business School. Desarrollo profesional en CUATRECASAS ABOGADOS (Barcelona) y GRAMEEN BANK (Dhaka, Bangladesh). Amplia experiencia en asesoramiento de empresas en España y China y desarrollo de negocios sostenibles. Co-fundadora de SOCIAL ENERGY y Directora General de SOCIAL CAR.

Let´s start the new year with something good. With this edition of WebBar, we want to support positive, social local businesses from Barcelona. The three speakers this time will show that Barcelona is a start-up hub with heart.

Social business/Social Entrepreneurship was first defined by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus and is described in his books Creating a world without poverty—Social Business and the future of capitalism and Building Social Business—The new kind of capitalism that serves humanity's most pressing needs. One of our speaker (Mar Alarcon) worked for the famous social Business Grameen bank, which is the first and best known example for Social Entrepreneurship and quoted and used as best practice worldwide.

This unique bilingual event helps local experts and international professionals come together in an informal atmosphere while listening to the presentations and best practice insights from other successful StartUps, Entrepreneurs and Online Businesses from Barcelona.
